i wish i could have told you about the color of the sun
and how the darkness had fallen
and this sunset was so bright for me
'cause i was thinking of you
but then i realized that you didn't want to listen
and that you'd never listened to me at all
you'd always used me for your own purposes
and never really cared about who i were
i remembered when i'd seen you for the last time
you looked at me and i heard your whisper: "goodbye..."
and though you'd never told it in words,
your eyes told it for you...

i wish i could tell you about the color of the sun
and about so many other things
but then i realize i'll never have a chance to tell you anything once again
